BLUE MEDUSA - CROCODILE.

You think you're God,
Making everyone prey,
Sanctifying malice in a martyr's name,
Hiding beneath the waves,
Death roll drunk on hate.

Oh, how far you've sunk,
Is it any wonder that your mind's gone dark?
Floods conceal with caustic tides,
Baptized all your alibis.

Just when you thought you could break me,
I surfaced with a smile.
Gaze upon me, Crocodile.

Scales creep in, clandestine,
The faithful doth my name revile,
Still waters never speak.
And never dry.

Tie your hands, twist your spine,
Bound, drowned, dotted line,
Something old, something new,
Something borrowed,
Ha! Ha! Ha!

Just when you thought you could break me,
I surfaced with a smile.
You lay in wait,
Pupils dilate,
Gaze upon me, Crocodile.

Guilt hides in the deep,
Congregation of two-faced grins,
Made a mess painting a new black sheep,
Virtue never learned to swim.

Just when your pride turned to envy,
The waters turned hostile.
Gaze upon me, Crocodile.

Every despot needs her tools.
Every cult breeds acolytes.
Every false prophet gathers fools,
Even sermons serve an appetite.

Lower down, closer still,
Taste the waters, lose your will,
Something old, something new,
Something borrowed,
Ha! Ha! Ha!

Just when you thought you could break me,
I surfaced with a smile.
All teeth exposed,
Your pretense erodes,
Gaze upon me, Crocodile.

I bet you thought you could erase me,
Delusion displaced the Nile.
Gaze upon me, Crocodile.

Just when you thought you could break me,
And you bathe in denial,
The ripples told,
The secrets you hold,
Gaze upon me, Crocodile.

I bet you thought you could erase me,
Silence has the sharpest bite,
But the river's still,
You never will,
Gaze upon me, Crocodile.

We both know you'll never face me,
You will never again
Prey upon me.
