Nystralis - Beasts Within

The forest shivers with whispered tread,
Kobolds skulk ‘neath timbered eaves.
Banshees wail where the moon is red,
And will-o'-wisps curl ‘round autumn leaves.

Night drifts thick with djinn and trolls,
Schrat and Näcken lurk in streams.
Shadows twist in the hollows of souls,
Feeding on what the mind redeems.

Hark the night, the beasts appear,
Dance in mist, none may hear.
Yet gaze within, the dark you bear,
The creatures dwell where hearts despair.

Vættir stir beneath the stone,
Alp and elf in shadowed glen.
Ogres haunt where the hearth once shone,
But all are born from the minds of men.

Through forest dark, the night reveals,
The gnarl and groan we thought was theirs.
Fear is the mask the soul conceals,
The monster lives where the courage dares.

Hark the night, the beasts appear,
Dance in mist, none may hear.
