Tekst piosenki
We were way too young a couple of crazy kids
They said it was a fairy-tale land we were livin' in
And lookin' back you know we were pretty green
Aren't you glad we were smart enough to be that naive
Steppin' out on the limb
Just think if we had listened to them
1st Chorus
We'd never danced under the stars in Colorado
Or took that drive across the Rio Grande
We'd never laid eyes on that California sunset
Or dipped our toes in that Monterey Sand
There'd be no yesterday and baby we couldn't say
HEY, HEY We did it our way
HEY, HEY We did it our way
Everybody Tried to tell us where to plant our seeds
They just couldnt undertand why we had to spread our wings
All we needed to pass life's little test
Was a second-hand car and a place to lay our heads
I thank God for you
Baby, I know our aim was true
2nd Chorus
We'd never walked the streets of Albuquerque
Or took that trip anywhere bound
Must've been fate forgettin' that road map
We got lost and found this little town
What a perfect place and we can sit back and say
HEY, HEY We did it our way
HEY, HEY We did it our way
We were way too young a couple of crazy kids
They said it was a fairy-tale land we were livin' in
HEY, HEY We did it our way
HEY, HEY We did it our way
We did it our way
We'd never danced under the stars in Colorado
Or took that drive across the Rio Grande
We'd never laid eyes on that California sunset
Or dipped our toes in that Monterey Sand
