Ass Ponys - Hey Swifty

gonna hold my hand
right over that candle flame
until i can't take it any longer
i swear i could hold it there
all god damned day
if i wanted to
i said hey go on
go ahead and make my day
then i blew away the mother in the mirror
and as i lay dying
on the bedroom rug
bleeding with all my heart
someone says hey swifty
yer gonna have to come around sometime

took a car ride out to the flats
where i hit a big dog
hit a dog out on the highway
so to find out what it was like
when you hit a big dog
i ran over it a couple more times
let it set for a week or so
until it got really ripe
and flat and hard
in the middle of the highway
then i found it and bound it up
with some baler twine
and painted it up like an american flag
then someone says hey swifty
yer gonna have to come around sometime

last week i got so bored
that i took a big ride
and went out to the mississippi
i took this guy i know
named lou along and he went
because he wanted to
he said i can't believe
we've driven all this way
just to see a fuckin' river
and i said god damn, god damn
god damn you man
and i left him where he stood
then someone says hey swifty
yer gonna have to come around sometime
